The Green/Yellow/Orange/Red color code system was formally adopted for Long Valley, developed with Mono County, the Town of Mammoth Lakes, CEPEC and CDMG, replacing a five-level alphabetic system adopted in 1991. Long Valley has sat at Green/Normal apart from brief elevations.
